ONCE UPON A POSE

Literacy, SEL, and Movement Workshops

Once Upon A Pose focuses on improving reading engagement and comprehension skills with movement, mindfulness, and visual art. Along with many other health benefits, research shows that yoga can develop reading skills by increasing a child's concentration and refining their visual tracking skills. Once Upon a Pose is a series of workshops for PK-8th grade students. Our curriculum is designed to help build and develop reading skills, mindfulness, social-emotional skills, and self-care practices. Once Upon a Pose engages youth with storytelling and movement through classic fairytales! Our curriculum aligns with the Collaborative for Academics and Social Emotional Learning's five core competencies: 1.) Self-Awareness 2.)Self-Management 3.)Social-Awareness 4.) Relationship Skills 5.)Responsible Decision-Making. CASEL's integrated framework promotes interpersonal, intrapersonal, and cognitive competence. A certified mindfulness, SEL, and yoga teacher facilitates our workshops.
